From specialised music therapy sessions that support well-being, to engaging educational workshops and personalised bespoke song creation, Emma offers a diverse range of services, with opportunities in a range of settings.

Consultations

Therapy Sessions at The Nest

  • Fundholders: $120/hour + GST (if applicable)

  • Non-fundholders: $90/hour + GST (if applicable)

  • Groups $160 (4 Maximum, with 1 support person required ) - 45 minute session

  • 40 minute sessions $90 + GST (if applicable) (30 minutes active session, 10 minutes administration)

Sessions include 45 minutes of active music therapy plus 15 minutes for administration, planning, and reporting.
Longer or shorter sessions and custom rates can be discussed on a case - by case basis.

Therapy Sessions Outside The Nest (Mobile or Off-site)

  • Individual Fundholders: $130/hour + GST (if applicable)

  • Non-fundholders: $110/hour + GST (if applicable)

Travel Flat Fee (per visit)

Neurologic Music Therapy ® Sessions (Individual Nest, Mobile, and TeleHealth rates)

Initial NMT Assessment (required) $90 + GST (if applicable)‍ ‍This comprehensive session follows the TDM framework to establish a baseline through standardised neurological screening and functional goal mapping. This rate is aligned with my professional consultation and representation fee, acknowledging the high level of clinical preparation required.

It is essential for the NMT™ therapist to understand the diagnostics of their clients as well as using specific function based standardised testing to inform treatment and provide benchmarks for measuring goal progress.

NMT Session (Funded) $150 + GST (if applicable)(Includes 45m active / 15m admin)

NMT Session (Non-Funded) $125 + GST (if applicable) Flat rate for Nest or Outreach (Includes 45m active / 15m admin)

NMT 40-Minute Session $105 + GST Focused NMT intervention (includes 30 minute session, 10 minute administration)

Total Duration of Care: Unlike some traditional music therapy models, NMT is often goal-limited. Once the functional goals identified in the TDM process are met, we may transition to a maintenance phase or conclude the clinical intervention. This ensures that therapy remains purposeful and results-oriented.

School Group/Individual Packages

  • Starting at $300 for group sessions ( 2 hours total; max 6 students per group)*

  • Includes GST and travel if applicable

  • individual sessions to be discussed on a case-by-case basis

    *A typical work day for a travelling music therapist starts well before arriving at the venue. It involves the planning and use of personal instruments and technology, session planning and design, research, engaging in school documentation/meetings, setting up the space - and then the pack down process, repacking, and administration. Travel within the Nelson region is included within the cost of the service.

Workshops / Professional Development

  • $400 plus GST if applicable (2-hour workshop, up to 10 participants)

  • $20 per additional participant

  • Topics include music-making, social connection, learning through play, and goal setting - but is tailored and personalised to your organisation

Presentations

  • Up to 1 hour — $200 + travel + GST (if applicable)

  • Presentations are tailored to your organisation’s particular needs

Clinical Supervision

  • 2025 & 2026 rate $90/hour + GST (if applicable) (online sessions)

  • 2027 rates are set to increase slightly

Cancellation Policy

Late Cancellations & Missed Appointments
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a 50% session fee.
Missed appointments without notice (no-shows) may be charged the full session fee. For Clients paid up for the term at The Nest, Missed appointments may be able to be rescheduled, providing they fall on a Tuesday or a Wednesday, and dependent on avaliability

Illness or Emergencies
We understand unexpected situations arise. If you or your child are unwell or an urgent matter occurs, please contact Emma as soon as possible. Compassionate and flexible approaches will be taken wherever possible.

Clinician Cancellations
If Emma needs to cancel a session, there will be no charge, and we will aim to reschedule at a convenient time for you. In the case where the session cannot be rescheduled, pre-paid clients will be reimbursed for the cost of the session .
